Recently I had a problem with the net. Most days I was able to stay online a few minutes. Seriously, the modem kept rebooting.
So I
finally installed the surfboard sb8200. I called cox to swap my mac address. The phone support was cool, only a few minutes on hold.

It’s better to wait for a human. Keep them employees working.
Why 8200? because 2 eth ports and 2 year warranty.
So do I want to plug my laptop directly into the extra gig eth port on the modem? More about this later. I better get a router /firewall. The Englishman calls it rooter.
The old surfboard still works but reboots frequently. It might simply need an update.

Yeah Netgear was nice, I like Netgear. Save a few bucks $50 in this case. Specific details I recall: only 1 gig port and 1 year warranty. Do you like netgear?
